CCS High School Graduation Planner

Choose the courses that will maximize your college potential.

Columbus City Schools has made a Curriculum Guide listing the courses each student must take to be on track.

The MIMIMUM coursework requirements for graduation from a CCS high school are: 
  • 4 units of English
  • 3 units of Mathematics
  • 3 units of Social Sciences (i.e. history & government)
  • 3 units of Lab Science 
  • 2 units of the SAME Foreign Language
  • 3 Elective units
  • 1 unit of Technology
  • 1 unit of Internship (120 hours)
  • 1/2 unit each of Phys Ed. & Health
Remember, these are the minimum requirements.  Anything above these will only enhance your preparation and opportunities after graduation.  Talk to your guidance counselor about pursuing these opportunities:
  • Honors courses
  • Advanced Placement courses
  • Post-Secondary Education Options (for college credit in High School)
  • Early College Programs  
The RECOMMENDED coursework for general college admission are:
  • 4 years of English
  • 3 years of Math
  • 3 years of Social Studies
  • 3 years of a Lab Science 
  • 2 years of the SAME Foreign Language
  • 1 unit of a Fine Art
  • 1 Elective unit
