scholarship resources

Applying for scholarships is a long process, but these tips and resources can make it a little easier!

finding the funds

  • See our resources below to learn about local and national scholarships you may qualify for. IKIC has both a scholarship and grant available to CCS graduates.
  • Talk to your school counselor or IKIC College Advising Manager about how to start applying
  • Make a clear list of everything you are required to turn in with your application so you do not forget anything.
  • Pay attention to deadlines. These will vary from scholarship to scholarship so make sure you have them organized.
  • Give yourself plenty of time to think through the essay prompts.
  • When writing your essay, make an outline first.
  • Write a 1st draft and have someone you trust (teacher, school counselor, parent, IKIC College Advising Manager) edit the 1st draft. After making their suggested edits, have a 2nd editor look over the 2nd draft.
  • Type your final draft and print a few copies, one for you to send and a couple for you to keep in your files.
