Special Founders Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of our partner Ohio colleges and universities, I Know I Can students have the opportunity to apply for special Founders Scholarships.

To be considered, students should complete the standard I Know I Can Founders Scholarship application through the portal and apply to their desired institution(s) by the college’s deadline. During the application process, students will indicate the schools they are interested in attending. Following the interview phase, eligible applicants will be considered for these special Founders Scholarships.

Here are a list of current “Special” Founders Institutions:

  • Capital University (up to 5 students per year) Up to full-tuition* 
  • Columbus College of Art & Design – Up to $10,000 
  • Columbus State Community College – Up to $5,000 
  • Historically Black College or University (HBCU) (up to 2 students per year) – Up to $10,000 
  • Kent State University (up to 4 students per year) Up to full-tuition*
  • Miami University (up to 5 students per year) – Up to full-tuition* 
  • Ohio Dominican University – Up to $10,000 
  • Ohio Wesleyan University – Up to $10,000 
  • Otterbein University – Up to full-tuition* 
  • University of Akron (up to 4 students per year) Up to full-tuition
  • The Ohio State University – Up to full-tuition* 
  • Wittenberg University – Up to full-tuition*

*Scholarship amount is based on tuition cost minus Federal Pell Grant and other institutional tuition-based scholarships are applied.
